Class 3A

Lakeville South jumped into the Class 3A top 10 in this week's coaches' poll after the Cougars went 5-1 on the week and defeated No. 5 Prior Lake in two sets. The Cougars sit at No. 8 and suffered their lone loss of the week to crosstown rival and No. 2-ranked Lakeville North. Lakeville South will have a chance to prove itself Tuesday when it takes on No. 1 Eagan.

The top three teams in the poll — Eagan, Lakeville North and Champlin Park — all held their spots in the top three. Stillwater made the biggest leap in this week's poll, as it jumped from No. 7 to No. 4. The Ponies went 4-1 on the week, with their one loss coming to the No. 1-ranked Wildcats in five sets.

The only team to fall out of this week’s 3A Poll was Moorhead. The Spuds did, however, have undefeated weak as they picked up wins against Fargo South and Detroit Lakes.

Class 2A

While No. 1 Maple Lake and No. 2 Stewartville each held their top spots, a few top-10 teams moved around. Southwest Christian jumped two spots to No. 3, following wins against St. Croix Prep and PACT Charter. Kasson-Mantorville fell to No. 5 after going 3-3 this past week.

There are two newcomers in this week’s poll. Hill-Murray sits at No. 8 after not being ranked last week — the Pioneers picked up wins against Forest Lake and Mahtomedi — and Rocori jumps to the No. 10 spot after starting the season 7-1.

Sauk Centre and Totino-Grace fell out of the poll this week. The previously-ranked Mainstreeters went 4-2 this past week, falling to Pipestone and Sauk Rapids-Rice. The Eagles fell out of the poll after previously being ranked No. 10.

Class 1A

Once again, the top three teams in the Class 1A poll remain static. No. 1 Mayer Lutheran and No. 2 Hayfield are each off to undefeated starts. No. 4 Tracy-Milroy-Balaton moves up one spot after going 5-2 this week, while Bethlehem Academy falls one spot to No. 5.

Minneota is the lone newcomer to this week’s poll. The No. 8 Vikings picked up wins against three Class 3A opponents, including No. 6 East Ridge. Minneota will take on No. 4-1A Tracy-Milroy Balaton on Thursday. Underwood falls out of this week’s poll after previously being ranked 10th.
